Guide and Carry Me: “Amen”

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed by Thy Name –
The King of kings, Lord of lords,
Thy Name the same.

My leader, my brother,
My Savior, my friend –
Guide and carry me,
Until that beginning as an end.

Our Father, The Creator,
The Holy, The One –
Lift me to that time
When eternity has only begun.

Hallowed be Thy Names,
Thy Swords to come;
Hallowed are The Words
Which shall never be undone.

Amen - Again

He is here with us, now. He is leading these efforts, now. He [was] watching while I wrote this. He will be watching while you read this.

    If You Listen

    If you listen,
not to the pages or preachers
    but to the smallest flower
    growing from a crack
    in your heart,
you will hear a great song
    moving across a wide ocean
    whose water is the music
    connecting all the islands
    of the universe together,
    and touching all
    you will feel it
    touching you
    around you . . .
    embracing you
    with light.

    It is in that light
    that everything lives
    and will always be alive.

    Not Wishful Thinking

Like Advent itself, hope is not something we conjure up ourselves by wishful thinking. It’s not something we work at by focusing on the positive and avoiding the negative. It doesn’t spring from optimism that the world will get better by human effort. It’s rooted in the promise of God’s faithfulness…. Only because God comes to us can we go to God. Only because God comes to us can we have hope we can go to God.
