“I guess I really shouldn’t be surprised at the human capacity for stupidity” – either. “I mean, after all, we live in a world where” a brilliant university professor, as a writer, makes a fool of himself – while, at the same time, attempting to shine a light on the hypocrisy of others. When one attempts to teach from/with historical perspectives (as David Michael Green does here), wouldn’t it be wise to refrain from alienating a significant section of the focused audience? People of Faith and Spirit, from the far-left to the far-right, most often respond in opposing directions when their undoubted (and fulfilled) beliefs are ridiculed by a person who makes it clear that he or she does not operate from a relative core. True, (since the ultimate sacrifice) Jesus Christ’s messages have been manipulated throughout all the following generations, for various reasons and goals. And yes, the latter escalated abhorrently during the time span of which Green references. Yet (again), advocating/promoting supposed enlightenment on related abuses, when one is concurrently abusing, can be crucially counterproductive.

It is possible – within wisdom, and without trampling certain boundaries.
